The 17th annual Jazz on the Bayou fundraiser – benefiting STARC,  Easter Seals Louisiana and the ARTS in St. Tammany Parish – Jazz will be held Saturday, March 28th and Sunday, March 29th, 2009, from 3-7 PM at Chateau Kole on Bayou Liberty near Slidell. Hosts for the event are Ronnie and Gardner Kole who are co-chairs along with Jack and Brenda Stroupe.

Since its creation by the Kole’s in 1993, Jazz on the Bayou has raised nearly $1,000,000 to support Easter Seals and STARC programs in New Orleans and the Northshore. Tenet’s Northshore Regional Medical Center is the presenting sponsor of this year’s Jazz, and past Corporate Sponsors’ are AT&T, Charter Communications, Ronnie and JoAnn Kole, Jr, and Slidell Memorial Hospital..  Patron Sponsor’s are St. Joe Brick Works, The St. Tammany News, and the Rotary Clubs of Slidell. Family Sponsors’ are Pete and Elizabeth Schneider, Chris and Sharon Schneider, Pat and Gloria Miramon, Richard and Wilma Dickey, Gardner and Ronnie Kole…

Here is a list of the restaurants, chefs, bands and suppliers that have donated their time, food and product for this year’s event.

Chefs Paul Prudhomme, and Paul Miller of K-Paul’s Louisiana Kitchen, John Besh’s La Provence and Restaurant Lüke, Young’s Steak House-Slidell, Chef Michael of Michael’s, Andrea Apuzzo of Andrea’s, Susan Spicer of Bayona, Frank and Tommy Wong of Trey Yuen, Friends, Amis, Nathan’s, La Rossetta, Assunta, LA Pines, Café Lynn, Pinewood Country Club, Christiano’s, the Original Italian Pie, Copeland’s, Starbuck’s and WOW’s Café and Wingery…

 All the pastries for Saturday will once again be donated by the Royal Sonesta Hotel, and on Sunday by A Family Affair Catering…Champagne and Red and White wines and will be provided by Republic Beverage, and Budweiser Beer products by Champagne Beverage…

Music will be provided by the Storyville Stompers, Bobby Ohler and the Harbor Band, and The Ronnie Kole Trio…

Jazz on the Bayou includes dancing on the tent-enclosed veranda at the Kole’s home on Bayou Liberty. Auction items are hotel stays at the Hilton Washington (DC) Hotel; Marriott’s Grand Hotel and Resort, Point Clear, AL; The Otesaga Hotel in Cooperstown, NY; and a stay in at the Hilton New York, and many New Orleans hotels are among the extensive auction items that also include Celebrity wine dinners, fashion accessories by local designers and one-of-a-kind jewelry. Also being auctioned are sports items and tickets, original art and lunches or dinners at more than 30 local restaurants and hotels...

The live auction we'll auction two round trip tickets on Air Tran, Southwest Airlines, Saints, Hornets, and Sugar Bowl items, fine trips to Napa, Vegas, Paris, London, Banff/Lake Louise Canada, plus many other items including an spectacular evening hosted by Gardner and Ronnie Kole at their home, Chateau Kole…It’ll include Chef John Besh preparing a Gourmet Dinner for eight featuring fine French wines from the Kole’s wine cellar, and music by Bobby Ohler, plus an after dinner concert by Ronnie Kole. …
